The Tintilia is an ancient native vine variety of Molise. The result is a red wine with an intense and very particular taste, as authentic as the territory from which it comes.
The Tintilia is the red wine par excellence in Molise.
Its origins seem to date back to the mid-eighteenth century, but it was only in 2011 that Tintilia won the Controlled Denomination of Origin, following a recovery process that saved the ancient native vine from a slow and inexorable disappearance.
Anyone visiting the Molise must taste the Tintilia: with a strong and decisive character, it has a very particular taste, which is a unique and authentic expression of the Molise territory.
It is a vine that resists well to the cold climate of the hilly areas of interior Molise, but which has a low productivity.
It has a very high alcohol content, an intense ruby red color tending to purple; it has a very intense, structured and complex taste, which has no equal with other Italian wines.
