Molise is a land of truffles. There is a small village in the province of Isernia, which every year, at the beginning of November, hosts the White Truffle Market Exhibition. It is San Pietro Avellana.
San Pietro Avellana is a small village of not even 500 souls, immersed in a fabulous landscape, which is that of the Collemeluccio-Montedimezzo biosphere reserve. This splendid and uncontaminated territory presents the ideal microclimate for the growth of truffles, especially the white one, very rare and very precious.
Since 25 years, at the beginning of November, San Pietro Avellana celebrates the famous tuber with the White Truffle Market Exhibition. This year the event runs from 1 to 3 November 2019. An unmissable event not only for lovers of the precious tuber, but also for lovers of typical products, good food in general and nature. All information can be found at this link
How to cook white truffle? The white truffle should not be cooked, but should be eaten strictly raw, sliced on first courses made with fresh egg pasta, but also main courses, appetizers and side dishes.
