The municipal library of Campobasso launches the first appointment with the Silent Book Club. Find out what it is and how it works.
Reading is probably one of the few most intimate, private experiences we can still enjoy. Can you preserve the intimacy and beauty of this solitary experience by reading in the company of other people? The answer is yes, reading in silence but in the company of people who share the same passion for reading.
This is why the Silent Book Clubs were born, ‘silent’ reading groups that aggregate people who want to socialize and share their readings (and ideas, experiences …).
Italians are fascinated by this American invention. In Molise, the municipal library of Campobasso launches the first appointment with the Silent Book Club, Saturday 25 January 2020.
How does it work? it is very simple. You bring the book you are reading (or borrow one from the library), have a chat, talk a little about the books and then read, in silence but in company. There are no rules, no tasks to do, you don’t have to read in advance. The idea is to relax, to find a moment for yourself but together with others.
Interesting, isn’t it?
