On 23th of April the city of Campobasso celebrates its patron saint, San Giorgio. At 5.00 pm the Mass will be held at the Church of San Giorgio and the procession will follow in the historic center and along the main streets of the city.

An authentic seal by Monsignor Celestino Bruno, bishop of Bojano, on 16th of April 1661, recognized the miracle made by San Giorgio during the battle of 1200 in Campobasso. From that date, the young fighter for the faith becomes officially the patron saint of the city, as it is written on an inscription on one of the many bells of the church.
