The itinerant residence program along the Apennines of the artist Angelo Bellobono starts from Monte Marrone, in Molise. It starts from the hut of Charles Moulin, the French-born artist who found in Molise his spiritual home.
‘Linea 1201’ is a traveling residency programme by the artist Angelo Bellobono which explores the high lands of the Apennines to produce a new series of paintings.
The programme develops in four stages, where the en plein air practice of the great nineteenth-century painters provides the key to narrating a hidden Italy.
It starts from Molise, from a special place: on the summit of Monte Marrone, from the hut of Charles Moulin (Lille 1869 – Isernia 1960), the French-born artist who found in Molise his spiritual home.
Angelo Bellobono will live for a week in the artist’s refuge and will paint a series of works that will be visible only for a single day. Sunday 28 June 2020, at the conclusion of the artistic residence at the Moulin hut, an excursion to Monte Marrone and the Bellobono exhibition is planned.
