Despite the complicated situation that we are living, also this year Roccavivara has decided to pay homage to its tradition with “Panunto”, an event on the tasting of local culinary recipes based on olive oil. Now the event has become vurtual and international!

We are in Roccavivara, in the province of Campobasso, where every year in Dicember, from the 2000s, people organize the event of “Panunto” (literally, “bread anointed”, in this case with olive oil). It is an heartfelt celebration of the citizens of Roccavivara that represents the long awaited moment of the taste of the olive oil after the laborious harvesting period. Through a predeterminated path among the alleys of the village, the citizens present their specialities that are characteristic of the Molisian interland; a genuine trip in the local gastronomy, from salty to the final pudding!

As we know, in this period we mustn’t organize this kind of events… and here is the kicker! The citizens of Roccavivara don’t stop at these obstacles and the real proof is the virtual event “Roccavivara Panunto Contest”.
This event has as purpose the social cohesion by removing the distances (that in this periode we have to respect) and the valorisation of the use of the olive oil, the basilar ingredient of our Mediterranean Diet.
Are you from Roccavivara? Are you simply a lover of the good cuisine? Are you particularly fond of this village? That’s fine! You only need to share your recipe (with a video or a photo) on the event of the Facebook page “Roccavivara Panunto Contest” by clarifying: who you are, where you are from and why you have chosen this recipe. Just one click and the game is done! You have time until the 7 December to share your favorite dish and by this date the public jury of Facebook will evaluate to decide which will be the most delicious recipe related to the theme of the olive oil.

The winner of this competition will obtain a plaque and his/her recipe will have the opportunity to be presented in the next edition of “Roccavivara Panunto Contest”. So, cut the chatter! It doesn’t matter in which part of the world you are because your recipe will be appreciated by all the citizens of Roccavivara who maybe will try to make them.
