Very suggestive and highly emotional historical images tell the story of Molise emigration. From the point of view of those who remained: women.
Molise, like the rest of Southern Italy, has suffered (and continues to suffer) from the phenomenon of emigration. From the end of the nineteenth century to the second post-war period and up to the present day.
It was not easy to pack and leave. What happened to those who remained? An exhibition entitled ‘Women and emigration’ recounts Molise emigration from the point of view of those who remained: women and children.
The exhibition, taking place in Campobasso at the exhibition spaces of the Molise Culture Foundation, is part of the multi-year cultural program ‘My second home’ curated by the Pro Arturo Giovannitti Association.
