Sunday 2 June Molise celebrates the birth of the Italian Republic, with celebrations in Campobasso and Isernia.
A curiosity: in the referendum of 2 June 1946, Molise, which was still annexed to Abruzzo, voted in favor of the monarchy. In the compartment “Abruzzi and Molise” 459.478 voters voted for the monarchy and 347,578 voted in favor of the Republic.
On Sunday 2 June the celebrations in Campobasso will start from the war memorial at the Monforte Castle and then will continue at Piazza Gabriele Pepe.
At the Government Palace the prefect will deliver the honors of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
In Isernia the celebrations will begin at the war memorial from 11 am, with the delivery of the honors of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
The ceremony will then continue at the Auditorium Unity of Italy with musical performances.
